Forestry plough on Island of Rum

Photograph taken by John of a beautifully painted old Parkgate Universal carriage plough with single furrow peat draining head which ploughed down to a depth of around 60cms. The plough is complete with drawbar and muscle hitch but missing the hydraulic hose which fitted from the tractor to the hydraulic lifting ram. This plough carriage still has the sheave block frames used prior to the hydraulic system for use with a heavy winch ropes which ran from the tractor winch through the sheaves and lifted the plough at the end of its plough run.
It is assumed this plough was used in ploughing the forestry plantings on Rum in the early days circa the 1970s? Can anyone provide a bit more history of this machine and when it was used?
