Corrimony Fence construction

Gordon Macdonald (left) and Simon Fraser working on a gate in the Corrimony ring fence. Gordon and Simon were part of the Glenurquhart Forest work team responsible for carrying out all the forest maintenance and work establishing a new forest.
The PDF shows some more images of the long deer fence (several miles) and also a new water gate where the fence crosses a sizable burn.
A number of years after this the newly planted forest at Corrimony was destroyed by a large forest fire which burnt for ages when the fire started burning into the peat. The area was purchased by the RSPB and is currently a very successful black grouse reserve.
