Inverness Forestry School forwarder
Image is courtesy of Alasdair Cameron who has contacted a former member of the Forestry School staff and confirmed that the machines were part of the Inverness School of Forestry fleet purchased and then registered locally in Inverness-shire.
This is a James Jones Highlander conversion based on a Ford 5000 which he believes may have been a County Tractor four wheel conversion but could find no plate to confirm this. The registration number is GAS 976N and fleet number GP 3602.
Alasdair adds 'The safety cab was made by Alexander Duncan of Nigg, Aberdeen, who made versions of this cab for many makes of tractor. I have also found out that the School of Forestry machinery was maintained by the staff of the Forestry Commission workshop at Longman, Inverness.'
This 1975 machine must be familiar to a considerable number of former students!
