Mike Aldridge taking saw training course
Photograph is courtesy of John Ireland, who is currently based at Lochaber Forest District.
Mike Aldridge was a Forestry Commission training forester for a number of years mainly training forest workers and forester supervisors in the skills required to operate and supervise many types of motorised hand tools, machines and such diverse operations as High Tensile Spring Steel fencing and debogging of light machines.
John Ireland believes this is Mike taking a chain saw supervisor’s training course in Glenurquhart Forest round about 1986. Note the person behind (partially hidden by tree) all kitted up in chainsaw working safety gear and tools.
