Kilcoy Forest - Black Isle circa 1940
The map is courtesy of Forestry Commission at Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District.
This early hand drawn map appears to show the areas acquired by the Forestry Commission as part of Kilcoy Forest outlined in red ink and a yellow or greenish boundary line. A darker paint wash may have been applied to the acquired areas as well.
The majority of areas were former woods and the areas acquired have been measured as individual areas in acres to three decimal places for management purposes. Some individual areas have been compartmented. Note all the former woodland names.
There is some tabulation on the bottom margins of the map but too indistinct to read easily.
