The hand coloured planting map shows something of the effect of acquiring land areas in the Black Isle area of Culbokie Forest over a period of time. The compartment numbers run from 1 through to 133, jump from one area to another and some have been renumbered. The green planting year boundaries and planning year numbers are hard to identify but appear to start from the 1927 with some as late as 1954. Essential to view large image to see detail.

Scots pine appears to be the main species and sometimes species is not recorded although there are research areas where various Scots pine provenances (races) are located. Note the Forest Worker Holding No 3 (FWH).
