Photograph is courtesy of Forestry Commission Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District.
A sight to gladden the heart of the old saw sawmillers as two very large pieces of sawn oak lie the mill yard awaiting shipment to a boat yard.
The information on the back of the photograph reads:
‘Oak keels 45’ x 18’’ x 12’’ From Major Grant’s Estate, Roskill, Black Isle.
April 1972
At Dingwall Sawmill’
Any information on the Estate, the Sawmill and likely destination of the Keels would very welcome.
