Image is courtesy of Walter Strzygowski (Austria) who was the technical field engineer who worked for Steyr .He says this image was probably taken by his boss as he was not in Norway at this time.

This machine was purchased by Werner Stumpf who was one of the Austrian team who came over to Scotland in 1980 to demonstrate the KSK16 Cable Crane and helped train the first Scottish operators.

Walter recalls:
‘Soon after Werner set up on his own business, working on windfall wood in DDR and then followed his Norwegian girl friend to Norway, where he owned the only KSK 20 which was built round 1990. The chassis was lengthened to accommodate the longer crane in transport mode and to comply with regulations two more axles were added.’

Groups: Timber harvesters, processors, forwarders and cable cranes
