Farigaig Visitor Centre
The images are courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and staff at their Fort Augustus office.
A view of the access to the Farigaig Visitor Centre and the local Forest Office at that time.
The PDF shows more of the surrounds and picnic site and also the display located within the building.
Note the displayed Scottish Wild Cat which would be very valuable today for gene based research on original Scottish wild cat genetic markers.
Any memories and details of when and who constructed this Visitor Centre would be very welcome. Eddie Fraser recalls that the Centre was set up and opened as part of the Jubilee Celelbrations in 1969.
