Students from Faskally Forester Training School
The photograph is courtesy of Rod Pimm (North Kessock) who was a student at Faskally Forester Training School from 1959 -1961.
Rod has named the two nearest the camera as fellow students Alan Beardsley and Gordon Watson. He believes Alan was a forester in North England and Gordon was Hrad Forester in Rumster before transferring down to the Pitlochry area in the 1990s.
Can anyone name the student in the back ground?

In the picture is a very interesting blazer badge on the student in the background. It is the Faskally badge that consisted of white bars crossed and a single tree. I had one for a long time but have since lost it -and miss having this memory of the early 1960's when I was there following postings for my practicums at Rannoch and Dunkeld

I would certainly enjoy hearing from any Faskally students who attended in the early 1960's. At my graduation there were about 18 of us. Most joined the Forestry Commission. Patrick Grove-White went to Tasmania and I went to Canada and worked in tree length logging, first for W Plaunt Logging and soon after for KVP until going to Ontario Hydro Forestry Department

My dad, Peter Burman was at Faskally 1959-61. When he left he went on to work for Alice Holt Research in Farnham before getting married and working in private forestry estates. He finished as Superintendants Deputy and Conservation Officer for Epping Forest. Sadly he died in 1996 at the age of 58 from cancer and I am now trying to trace anyone who may have known him of what they did at Faskally.
