Logs for Riddoch

Date Added: 09 April 2008 Contributor: Heritage North Year of Photo: 1955 Picture No: 313

Derek Mair, Lochaber district, sent this shot in of his father James Mair (L) and Bill Dingwall after handloading James' two lorries with what looks like pitprops. James got all his work from Riddoch of Rothiemay, timbermerchants.

The lorries are, on the left, A Fodden, and on the right, an Atkinson.

I wonder if this is the same Jimmy Mair who used to haul for Riddoch's at the Bin and Clashindarroch ?
He had a Foden but not the one in the Photo.

The other Lorry in the Photo is not an Atkinson but a Leyland Beaver if 4 Wheeled and a Hippo if 6 Wheeled.

Would this be the same Derek Mair that used to be a machine operator then moved on to FM ? Comment left on 02 November 2015 at 01:30 by
He's the same Derek Mair, he was a supervisor with Lochaber District when he came off the harvester. Comment left on 03 November 2015 at 00:09 by ROBERT HANNAH
