Tree climbing skill in useful for a number of activities in the forest such as ringing of young tree nesting birds, building of tree nesting platforms, rigging of wires in spar trees and also for rescue of people stuck up in trees. Training is essential and here a two people team are on a rope climbing course in a large Scots pine in Glen Affric. First to feature is Alastair Smyth a Forester FM in Fort Augustus Forest District.
