Geology Report on Inchnacardoch Forest 1939
The report is courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and staff at their Fort Augustus office.
This short geological report was written by Dr J B Simpson and held in a file initially by A Macdonald the latter being the Research Head Forester Angus Macdonald the long term Forest Research supervisor based at Fort Augustus. It is not known at this stage if Dr Simpson was a member of the Forestry Commission staff but thought unlikely.
The report is quite a detailed description in geological terms of the base rock and drift material in the Inchnacardoch Forest area illuminated by two hand drawn sketches of soil profiles.
