Fordson Major half track and Igland winch
Photograph courtesy of Leslie Phillip, Perth who took this photograph somewhere in the North west Highlands in the 1980s.
The Fordson half track conversion plus fitted Igland 4000 winch is pulling a sledge loaded with fencing material. One assumes the winch was used when crossing softer ground or steeper up slopes. Note the posts being used as bolster pins on the sledge, the deer fence straining posts on the far side and the handy way of carrying the coils of plain wire (possibly high tensile steel) on the front of the tractor.
Does anyone recognise the location or the machine outfit?

looks like a dual purpose outfit with a well used winch and butt plate plus half track.
