Newtyle Forest — Map 1
Maps are courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District.
One of two hand drawn maps of Newtyle Forest this being the northern section where planting first started in 1932 and continued on until 1945. The main species is Scots pine but with significant areas of Sitka spruce and larch. The compartments run from No 1 to No 32.
The forest is located about 8 miles due south of Forres, a separate unit at one time, but was absorbed into Monaughty Forest unit in later years.
