One of a series of four maps covering the once separate unit of Aultmore Forest which lies in the old county of Banff between the coastal town of Cullen and Keith. Unfortunately the original planting maps from the Forest have not been located.

There is one small woodland on this map consisting of three Compartments, No 41-43. Much of the area has been annotated as having a crop marked as Scrub which was the common mapping term then for mixed broadleaves (often birch) with areas of open space and shrubs such as willow. It is likely these were acquired as long since felled woodlands which had not been replanted and a programme of replanting with conifers appears to have started in 1969.

Any details about the forest or your work in the forest are very welcome.
