Timber Workers near Garlogie Aberdeenshire

Picture courtesy of John Coutts husband of the late Gladys Coutts (nee Donald)WTC.

These are a group of men who worked with the Women's Timber Corps in woods around Garlogie, Aberdeenshire. The women were billeted in wooden huts at Garlogie and joined the men to fell, crosscut, extract and load timber. A hand written note on back of photograph names the people but not the sequence but could assume from top left: Henry Tocher, Bill Main, Joke Duncan, George Walker (ex Towie), Mr Daun (Foreman ex Kemnay), Albert and two labourers - taken in woods 1943.
