John McLeod - Head Forester - Sunart Forest

John McLeod was Head Forester for Sunart Forest in the 1960s and covered the forest areas on the north side of Loch Sunart, Glen Tarbert and over the ridge in Glen Moidart as well as isolated Glencripesdale. A native of Raasay he returned there after retirement from the Forestry Commission.
Note the red collar of the Forestry Commission Forester's jacket in those days. Normally there was a brass crown in the corner of either side of the collar but these were often removed by the foresters themselves.
