Photograph courtesy of Robert Bruce, Drummuir, which was taken around 1964 at Riddochs of Rothiemay sawmill at Aberlour gardens. The men are left to right Patty Bruce, Jimmy Smith and Peter Milne. Patty and Peter were haulage contractors. They are unloading five feet post cuts from the front bunk and mining timber from the rear bunk. The lorry is a Bedford four wheeler and note the two unloading skids inserted under the wood load alongside the bolsters to allow the post cuts to be rolled directly onto the sawmill skids. Gordon Smith thought that Peter Milne was the son of Peter Milne who was the Office Manager for Riddochs of Rothiemay.

I remember loading Bruce's Dark Green Bedford in Strathdon somewhere, probably on the Candacraig Estate.
