Photograph courtesy of Leslie Phillip, Perth, showing his father David Leslie who was Head Forester on the Estate standing on the left with William and David Mason after they have finished a session of cross cutting logs o the McConnell saw behind the Massey Ferguson 165 Multi-Power tractor.

At the time Leslie worked for William Duff and Sons and was loaned the tractor for the job. This tractor being frequently on the road was known locally in the Forfar area as ‘The Road Runner’.

This was a fast tractor on the road at the time, a combination of multi power gears and a tweaked engine "opened up" hence the name road runner. Comment left on 20 December 2016 at 14:29 by
