Photograph courtesy of Leslie Phillip, Perth, showing an
ex Army Bedford truck HSR483E conversion working on Lour Estate, Forfar, owned by McGregor Brothers, Jim and Dave, contractors from Kirriemuir.

Jim McGregor drove this machine and had just replaced the petrol engine with one from a Fordson Major tractor. At the time the hand brake only worked as the air supply system to the main wheel brakes had not been fitted up.

Brother Dave MacGregor drove the D2 Caterpillar tractor.

HSR483E is not a Bedford but is a Ford dating from the early 1950s.

Ford used a Commer cab for that model as they did not have a cab over engine design of their own at the time.
