Cannich village 1973

‘This is Cannich from the slopes of Carn Dubh-ghlaic viewed towards the southwest.
Having arrived in Cannich on the morning of Saturday the 7th August 1973, by the midday bus from Inverness, met by Geordie Douglas and shown my room in the hostel, I decided to go for a walk up the hill. My introduction to Scotland and the FC as a forest worker doing two years pre-college work experience.
The old Hydro camp/ FC buildings are the brown ones to the left, the white houses in the centre are the ‘Council’ houses and the yellow sandstone buildings to the right are the Hydro Board engineer’s houses.’
