Organised Felling in Clashindarroch Forest

The view is of a burn above Tillathrowie on what was known as the Drumfergue road running through a small but deep valley which has been felled so that the majority of branches have been placed in zones back from but parallel to the water course. The logs have been left close to or over the burn and ready for Doug Morrison on his Kockums Forwarder to run over the brash mats and pick up the logs and small roundwood. The aim was to harvest the sensitive area without damaging the sides of the burn and leaving it clear of all branches and material.
The PDF shows the extraction of the logs with the Kockums forwarder which is carrying some unusually long saw logs which appear to be over 6 metres!
