Resurveyed Loch Arkaig areas - Clunes Forest

Maps are courtesy of Lochaber Forest District, Torlundy with particular thanks to Ben Lennon.

The style of this map showing the resurveyed areas of Forestry Commission forests on the north side of Loch Arkaig is somewhat different from the others in the Lochaber series. The species and sub-compartments are very clear, the planting year (P) is shown as a large figure covering several compartments bounded by a broken chain line and the individual blocks have their area breakdowns written above the boundaries.

The planting work took place from 1957 through to 1964 and contains a surprising amount of Sitka spruce with Scots pine and Larch often used on the drier knolls.
