FiatAllis 8B Mounted Tine plough — Glengarry
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
A very new looking machine with no FC livery indicating that it could be a contractor machine but more likely a machine on trial by the Fiatallis supply company. The plough is a double mouldboard tine most likely D45/T60/m able to reach depths of 60cms. Note that two drivers are pictured operating the machine but neither are clearly shown although the one with the deer stalker hat has some likeness to Ian Balloch. Can anyone name the drivers?
The location in Glengarry Forest may be identified from the loch with the house beside it and the new forestry road all beside or below the line of the plough sock.
The PDF contains other views of the machine and drivers.
