The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

Early days of attempts to bring in a variety of mechanised felling and tree processing machines which could be suitable for Scottish forest conditions. There is only two views of the boom and head of this Kockums feller buncher (One view in the PDF) and so little indication of the base machine size and model number. It certainly seems very capable of dealing with the Douglas fir here.

Any information on the machine would be very welcome.
