Forester’s House Strome Forest
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
The sunny front of the Dorran type bungalow house so typical of many foresters house built in the 1960s or even earlier. This one was occupied by Willie Grant and family at the time of this photograph.
Any memories of this house from other occupants would be very welcome.

This is the Dorran at Craig, Achnashellach, not Strome as stated in the caption. It was occupied in the late sixties and early seventies by (I think!) Donnie Laird(?) Then Duncan MacLean followed by Ivan Rothe and family, then came Willie Grant and family and lastly Donald Beaton before the house was sold into private ownership
