Bruunett Forwarder in Glenelg Forest

A lightweight 8 wheeled Bruunett Forwarder turning in Glenelg Forest which was part of the Ratagan Chief Forester chargeship. The driver’s face is not clearly shown but can someone recognise the man?

Not shown here but part of this forest had veins of base rich limestone rock running through it or nearby on which grew some of the most magnificent stands of very large Sitka spruce. Can anyone remember these trees?

I remember this machine working on a first thinnings plot on Panmure estate in the 1970s. Ditches were no problem for it to cross with a full load pushing or pulling. Comment left on 27 September 2017 at 23:30 by Leslie Phillip

It's unusual to see a Forestry Commission vehicle without an id. number, also the red 360 degree rotating grab was not the standard fit for the Bruunett at that time, it proved to much faster in line thinnings according to Sandy Powers. Comment left on 10 February 2018 at 14:27 by Leslie Phillip
