Culbin Forest thatched sand dunes 1951

A Research photograph number B436 has been written on the back of this image of thatched sand dunes with what looks like a very small pine tree growing in between birch branches and stems. It is difficult to say if this was hand planted or a natural regenerated tree from seed carried in on the tree brash.
