Spraying chemical on heather
Photograph courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District with particular help from Lesley Hutcheson, Newton.
This photograph is assumed to have been taken somewhere in Moray Forest District and shows three men spraying heather with a chemical such as 2.4D or 2.4.5T which is competing with and slowing down the growth of the young Sitka spruce trees. The sprayers appear to be pressurised Cooper Pegler versions often used also for fire fighting and suppression of smouldering embers when used with a high volume lance and nozzle. Note - year is not known.
Names of workers and location would be very welcome.
