Windblown pine at Ballindalloch Estate
Photographs courtesy of Freida Murray, Buckie, daughter of Robert Allison.
No details other than the site name but shows an area of Ballindalloch Estate where the Scots pine plantation has been flattened by the Jan 1953 gale. The photograph in the PDF image shows a nearby site also badly blown but which has been harvested and most of the timber extracted. The site still looks in a bad state with some thin remnant trees still standing, root plates half fallen back into their sockets and other debris lying about.
