Loch Ard Forest and Duchray road area

Sandy says ‘After all that grunt work of draining, screefing and bracken cutting , etc., etc., in the period around 1955-57, the Norway spruce that I am standing next to is one of the poorest of the plantations along the Duchray road in Loch Ard Forest. However further westward along the same Duchray Road, I came on these fine logs – which is typical of logs extracted from most of the forest. I have no idea what they will be processed into. Perhaps your morning paper!’
