A demonstration of some robust looking mechanical technology to help deal with the tangle of trees following the windblow.
A lightweight machine capable of traversing difficult ground with a light wire winch must have been a very welcome addition on some sites.
Does anyone remember this machine and its origins?

The machine is likely to have been a one off, it looks like it has been adapted from a World War 2 Bren Gun carrier.

These machines were built after the WW2 (Made in Austria) to help out in the forests, ... A few of them are still existing.

Atkinsons Agricultural Appliances Clitheroe Lancrs made some of these in conjunction with an Austrian company .It was called The Atkinsons Hacker tractor company not many were made and the last few were never fully completed and were cut up for scrap I am lucky enough to have ridden on one
