Great view of a homemade wooden Sulky or loader clearing up the woodlands and grounds at Straloch and loading logs onto quite a small lorry. The Fordson tractor has a rear mounted winch with rope directly on to a pair of scissor timber tongs. It must have been difficult to get the centre of gravity of the log without a bit of trial and error.

The note adds ‘Ogston – Fintry Mills’ - can anyone enlarge on this?

β€˜Ogston – Fintry Mills' were Grain Millers.

I don't remember them being involved with Timber.
