Images of gale damaged forest — 1953 Gale

A number of photographs showing the effect of the Jan 1953 storm on different species of trees of varying ages. This image shows a smashed Douglas fir forest and attached in the PDF are some more images of damaged Scots pine areas where the trees are simply up rooted..
Unfortunately there are no location names and the only references are the numbers on the back of the photographs which begin with C1588 and in sequence C1589, C1590 and C1591.
