Heavy snow fall Glengarry Forest — 1955
Photographs courtesy of Brian Patience with help from Don MacLeman, Newnham. Photographs were taken by John Patience (Uncle of Brian) who was a forester at Glengarry at the time. John, originally from Avoch, trained at Glentress Forester Training School and was posted as a newly qualified forester to Mull in 1951, onwards to Glengarry in 1955, Queens in 1957 and then as Head Forester to Broadford, Skye around 1960 where he worked until he retired in 1990.
The notes indicate a 14 inch fall of snow at Glengarry forest and shows the Bedford lorry with canopy for transporting men outside a store shed or garage at Glengarry Forest.
Can anyone identify the location and who would drive the lorry at this time?

The location is Forest Gate at the end of Mandally road, and the building is the garage where the lorry was kept, with a bothy at the other end. The lorry driver was my father, Charlie Hannah, and our house was closeby.
