A series of photographs taken at Parkgate Engineering Works owned by the Murray family who manufactured almost all the forestry ploughs from the 1950s through to the 1980s. This photograph taken by Donald Thomson in 1976 shows a S60/-/ t plough head on a universal or Parkgate carriage. By 1976 the era of single furrow ploughing particularly on peat was coming to an end and being replaced by double furrow ploughs. The PDF shows a painted up version of the same type of plough complete with all the fittings – no indication of its destination or just for show?
