Two of images of the D7 Caterpillar tractor MGN581L, FC62221 with large single mouldboard tine plough capable of going down to a depth of 90 cm (S60/T90/m). The outfit is working in Speymouth Forest, possibly Tiendland, several months after the Tulliallan Forest work. Note how two strengthening plated have been added to the sides of the plough beam where it meets the short cross bar. The cross bar has also been beefed up. The previous design was obviously not fit for purpose as the jaws of the beam would have bent under the large forces of constant lifting especially with roots trapped in the throat of the plough.

Although his face is not seen the man standing on the tracks is almost certainly Dod Irvine who drove D7s in later years and was normally on machine MGN658L featured in Picture No 386 with Bert Legge
