A series of 6 photographs taken by GGM Taylor around 1970 on the M6 motorway near Carlisle of a grader being trialled as a machine to making Riggs and Furs for a forest research experiment. No record of this trial having been taken any further. The gentleman in the photograph is said to be Geoff Bartlett who worked for many years on the research experiments in Caithness and Sutherland. Indeed it was in honour of his wishes that his ashes were scattered on a research forest in Caithness.
