A photograph possibly taken by D W Henman in 1966 at Clarks engineering workshop at Parkgate near Ae. The description goes on to say ‘The Clark deep Drainer plough with the goose neck beam to permit working in stumpy ground was devised in 1965. This model is fitted with hydraulic lifting gear and coil springs in place of the old style leaf springs to dampen the coulter discs.’
Note that the hydraulic ram is attached between top of goose neck to top of A frame. This was to change in later models. The travel hook up mechanism is now a bolt which fits across below the beam.
The plough was to become known universally as the Humpy Draining plough.
