A series of photographs showing the Bord na Mona tractor being prepared for working with a Cuthbertson single furrow plough on floats on the very soft peat of Flanders Moss. The initial image shows the oak tracks being fitted to the wide track chains on the converted Ford tractor which appears to have had a long external frame chassis and external drive to the rear sprocket added. The tractor developed by the Irish peat harvesting and sales company Bord na Mona. Photos by D W Henman

It's based on a Fordson Super Major Industrial skid unit - designated by the three bars on the radiator grilles. Comment left on 04 December 2014 at 07:58 by David Shearer

I should have added in my comment above that it does look like County steering clutch levers, so was possibly a County crawler mounted on Born na Mona's own subframe with chain drive taken back to the track sprockets in the outboard housings clearly seen in the side view of the tractor.
