Scotsman photograph of a short wide and in the lead a long wide County tractor making their way across single furrow plough pulling a left hand throw Cuthbertson deep draining plough as they establish the final network of permanent drains for this forest area. Note a couple of men out in front who may be marking out the line of the drains for the tractor drivers to follow. Draining ploughs could be fitted with either left hand throws as here or right hand throws to ensure the easier task of ploughing down slope and yet be able to throw the drain spoil on lower side of drain.
