‘Land Guage ‘ ditching tool on County

One of a set of photographs taken by Wm C Anderson (Directorate Mech Engineer) at Kershope Forest in 1964 showing the trial of the ‘Land Guage’ ditcher. The photographs seem to indicate that the bucket was lowered into the drain by the arm on the attachment and by driving the tractor forward the bucket was filled. Thereafter the arm was raised and swung over for tipping at the side by the tractor’s hydraulic drive.
Note the large sized tyres fitted to the tractor. Any information on these and the ‘Land Guage’ would be very welcome.
