This demonstration was primarily for the South Scotland Conservancy staff and quite a large number of plough types were gathered at Greskine Forest for the event in June 1963. This particular part of the demonstration shows the latest universal plough frame (Parkgate type) fitted with a hydraulic ram lift and a single mouldboard tine head. The fitting of hydraulic plough lifting capacity negated the need to fit heavy winches to the rear ends of the tractors which were tail heavy anyway. Hydraulic driven winches were in time subsequently fitted to the fronts of tractors except those working on cross draining teams. This tractor is a Fiat 70C (FC 4349 Reg No 740 ELM). Can anyone name the driver?
