Mounted hydraulic tine plough at Blaven, Skye
Forestry Commission copyright image of Forest Research photographs courtesy of Glenn Brearley, Roslin. N1257
A Fiat 60C tractor with a mounted tine plough lifted by a hydraulic ram mounted on top of the plough beam working in the Blaven Section of Skye. This mounted plough and tractor configuration became the standard for the next 30 years and was the work horse for the steep hill sides and rocky areas where reversing with plough enabled many steep slopes and also small confined areas to be quickly ploughed.
