Glenamoy Tunnel Plough at Flanders Moss

Scottish built version (at Parkgate) of the Irish Glenamoy tunnel plough mounted via Ede Linkage onto a wide extended tracked Bogmaster Fordson County Tractor which carried out experimental draining/ploughing work on Flanders Moss, Loch Ard Forest in experiment 10. Photographs by D W Henman.
This photograph shows the Soagnum/Eriophorum peat bog with ploughing completed and the extruded ribbons of peat lying on the surface. Some ribbons are continuous and others broken. The man is holding a peat sampling tool which has been opened following the process of taking a core sample through the channel and clearly shows the peat above and below the tunnel void.
