A Mark 1 JCB excavator attachment fitted to a narrow tracked County Tractor is draining on a felled site with very dense brash. This photograph demonstrates the improving design of hydraulic excavators and their use in forestry draining. From demonstrations such as this the modern ditching and mounding systems used everywhere currently must surely have developed.
