A series of images of a Cuthbertson Buffalo tractor with draining plough directly mounted onto the rear. In this case there is no hydraulic lifting rams and the lift is provided by the front tractor winch. The winch rope was led over one of the plough mounting frame stabiliser arms which runs above the driver’s head. There is some confusion over the dates when this work took place in Jordanlaw Moss, Egerhope Forest as some images are dated 1952 and others 1954 and one image has the name Spotteswood.

The large draining plough with two side discs appears to have done a remarkably good job on the double furrow ploughed peat moss.
