Hydraulic Mounted Tine — Fetteresso Forest

View of a mounted tine plough working in Fetteresso in 1952. This plough is also hydraulically lifted by the vertical ram forcing the ropes to tighten and lift the plough head. This mounted version on a TD 9 is similar in a great many ways to that which was trialled in Wauchope Forest two years previously but perhaps not quite so finely constructed. In this case also the large tine head is bolted directly onto the beam via bolts through the beam.
In Andy Neustein's History of Ploughs he does mention that Begg family of Tarbolton were involved in the manufacture of this assembly.
