An early image of the Roy Lister Robinson initiated plough which seems to have worked quite extensively in England. The caption states: ‘RLR plough used in moorland and heathland afforestation, particularly suitable for difficult stony ground. It tends to turn out a rather broken spoil ridge for planting. It will cut furrows 18 – 20 inches deep. Smales Forest, Keilder. M V Laurie 3. 9.49’

The slightly unusual item on this version of the plough is the coulter disc on the turn over side of the channel. The large box section steel bar to which it is fixed is also a new and perhaps temporary feature. The normal positioned coulter disc is hidden from view on the other side of the plough. Compared with the Ransome and Oliver ploughs this is a much more robust beast.
